This is the original Watercolour painting by William Francis Phillipps.

One of a superb series of Dinosaur paintings created for the book 'The Mysterious World of Dinosaurs'. Dinichthys (meaning terrible fish), was a family of ancient, meat-eating fishes.

Dunkleosteus was the biggest member of this family. It was a heavily armored primitive fish from the Late Devonian period, about 360 million years ago.
