This is the original Pen & Ink Wash by Patrick Nicolle.

Hunted by a hundred human bloodhounds. The story of an English settler in Australia who was hunted for a murder his business partner had committed. To escape the posse Edward Walton stole a horse from a clergyman thus adding a second capital offence.

On reaching Sydney he discovered that there was a state-wide hunt for him. Walton fled back to England where his story was published. A lovely study by Patrick Nicolle.
