Description: Minnie the Minx is a counterpart to Dennis the Menace (alongside Beryl the Peril), and sports the same horizontal black and red stripey jumper to prove it. She is described as having the 'ferocity and strength of an Amazon warrior'.
Minnie has been appearing in the Beano since the issue dated 19 December, 1953. She was created by artist Leo Baxendale who was also responsible for the Bash Street Kids. Jim Petrie took over in June 1961 and carried on for 40 years.
EveryBody Knows The Beano 1975 This is a well balanced panel, with the pavement at the bottom and the speech bubble at the top. It also has a beautiful background half-tone, which takes on a sort of bendy dot look in the scale of a screenprint. The complaint is also one many of us could sympathise with. An numbered edition of 25 signed by the print maker John Patrick Reynolds. Screenprint on paper.
