This is the original Watercolour painting by James McConnell.
Sennacherib was King of Assyria from 704 to 681 BC. In 701 BC an Egyptian and Babylonian rebellion broke out in Judah, led by King Hezekiah. Sennacherib led the Assyrian army against Judah, and besieged Jerusalem.
However, due to a coup attempt back in the Assyrian capital, Nineveh, Sennacherib had to break off the siege before Jerusalem fell. This colourful illustration shows King Sennacherib outside the walls of Jerusalem.
This is the original artwork from the Look and Learn Book of 1001 Questions and Answers, 1983. Some slight damage.
