This is the Signed original Watercolour painting by James McConnell.

A treasure that has never been found. The Incas are said to have hidden their legendary fortune to spite the Conquistador Pizzaro after he went back on his word and executed the Inca chieftain Atahuallpa.

In this stunning romanticised painting by James McConnell, Atahuallpa is directing the burying of the gold even though he was held in custody when it supposedly happened.

This is the original artwork for cover of Look and Learn issue no 126 (13 June 1964).
