This is the Signed original Gouache painting by James McConnell.

A simply stunning portrait of the Zulu chief Cetewayo (aka Cetshwayo) by the incomparable James E. McConnell. Cetewayo kaMpande, circa 1826 - 8 February 1884) was King of the Zulu Kingdom from 1872 to 1879 and their leader during the Anglo-Zulu War (1879).

This is the original artwork for cover of Look and Learn issue no 96 (16 November 1963). Probably McConnell's most powerful painting for Look and Learn.
