This is the original Watercolour painting by Barrie Linklater.

Many people have searched for the lost treasure of the notorious pirate Captain Kidd. As late as the end of the 19th Century word went around that the treasure was buried on Deer Island in the State of Maine USA.

Hundreds of people descended on the island determined to make their fortune before the story was revealed as a hoax.
