This is the original Watercolour painting by J Campbell Kerr (attrib).

A lovely period setting illustration, painted in watercolour and then varnished. This original painting was published as page 30 of the ladies story paper My Weekly dated July 29, unknown year, probably late 1970s.

The magazine is still published by DC Thomson of Dundee who also publish People's Friend, the painted covers to which are always credited to the collective pseudonym J. Campbell Kerr. The theme would appear to a 1930s era grocer in the throws of frustrated passion.
