Description: A Handley Page Halifax B Mk II crash landing on a glacier near Trondheim in Norway after attacking the German battle cruiser the Tirpitz during World War Two.
The crew escaped, but the fire which had brought the bomber down melted the ice of the glacier it had crash-landed on and the plane sank into the dark waters below.
The airplane was salvaged 31 years later and brought back to Britain - the only surviving Halifax bomber.
