Description: Into the Blue: Merchant Navy Fighter. Original artwork from Look and Learn no. 309 (16 December 1967). Formed in May 1941 the MSFU was used to protect the convoys against enemy aircraft particularly on the routes to Russia. The unit was disbanded in June 1943 when there were sufficient escort carriers available.
