This is the original Gouache painting by Wilf Hardy.

From the series Flying Firsts which Wilf Hardy illustrated for Look and Learn magazine. One of the first British successes in World War One aviation came when Captain Strange and Lt. Small mounted a Lewis machine gun in their Avro 504 and shot down a German Aviatik. They collected the unfortunate pilot's helmet as proof of their success. This Art is professionally FRAMED.
