This is the original Watercolour painting by Dan Escott.

Neuschwanstein Castle was built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria (1845-1886, r.1864-1886), also known as 'Mad King Ludwig'. A neo-romanticist palace built on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau in Bavaria, it was the inspiration behind Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle, and was used in the filming of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 1968. This is the original artwork from Look and Learn no. 430, 11th April 1970.
