This is the original Gouache painting by Neville Dear.

The Nazi commando raid under Captain Otto Skorzeny's command took place high in the Abruzzi mountains, at the Campo Imperatore Hotel, where the deposed Italian dictator, Benito Mussolini, was being kept under close arrest. This is the original artwork for the illustration on pp6-7 of Look and Learn no. 344 (17 August 1968).
