Description: The gunfight lasted for no more than 60 seconds, but when it was over three men were dead and one lay wounded. Inset shows Commodore Perry Owens, the hard-shooting sheriff of Nevaho County. 'He's only a child, sheriff. Don't shoot him,' Mrs Blevins pleaded. Suddenly, the boy sprang from his mother and pointed his gun straight at Owens. Original artwork for illustration on p31 of Look and Learn issue no 880 (25 November 1978).
