Remus, in derision of his brother Romulus, leapt over the new wall. Romulus, enraged at this, slew him and swore "So perish every one that shall hereafter leap over my wall".

This stunning illustration, an original piece of artwork for Look and Learn no. 1006, 20th January 1981, captures the moment when Romulus, enraged at his brothers action, hurls a spear in fury.
