This is the unique original Gouache painting by 20th Century unidentified artist.

In 1971 Look and Learn published a series of articles on the inventions of times past. Some looked as though they would work but didn't and vice versa. The underwater bomber was invented by James Nasmyth and was intended to sink enemy ships close to shore with a giant shell piercing a hull six feet underwater. Fortunately for the potential crew the idea was never taken up.

The Zimer boat, a sort of floating bicycle with pontoon floating stabilisers was a Victorian era investment opportunity. And we are assured "Great Fun!".

Artist unknown, the feature was published in Look and Learn 476, 27th February 1971.
