Description: The original art used for the cover of Eagle comic volume 17 #33 on 13th August 1966. This is one of a series of paintings under the title "Did It Happen" and shows an historical scene in 1608 when John Smith was attacked and captured by Indians, ultimately being saved execution by Pocahontas, the chief Powhatan daughter. Smith later became President of Virginia. Pocahontas married another English settler John Rolfe, came to England and died at Greenwich in 1617. A copy of the original come comes with the art.
