Description: On 8 July 1822, against the advice of the local inhabitants, Shelley set out in his small boat for a sail. The expected storm blew up, the boat foundered, and Shelley, who could not swim, was never seen alive again. Eight days later his body was washed up on the beach - he was identified by a book of poetry in his pocket. Original artwork for illustration on p23 of Look and Learn issue no 951 (12 April 1980).

On her maiden voyage she was she was put to sea in Stockholm harbour with a large amount of ballast, her gun ports open and a huge number of dignatories on board. A surprise gust of wind took her sails and turned her over, the sea rushing through her gun ports. A dramatic painting professionally framed.

He stole the painting by putting it under his coat and walking out of the gallery. He returned the painting some months later. Illustrated here is the theft with a version of the original mounted together and professionally framed.
